MYOFUNCTIONAL THERAPY
What is Orofacial Myofunctional Disorder (OMD)?
An OMD may lead to an abnormal bite —the improper alignment between the
upper and lower teeth known as malocclusion.
This problem may lead to difficulties in biting, chewing, swallowing, and digesting of food.
Treatment for Orofacial Myofunctional Disorder — OMD
Careful diagnosis and special orthodontic appliances or braces will be needed to reposition dental problems that have already occurred.
An uncorrected OMD can undermine the stability of orthodontic correction, resulting in relapse.
